Backblaze Business
Business cloud backup. Admin control, multi-user.
Backblaze Business is the backup version for companies. The same unlimited backup engine from the personal version, with central management, employee rollout, and admin control on top.
Pricing: $99 per year per computer, with monthly, annual, or biennial billing. A company with 10 employees pays $990 per year for full unlimited backup of every machine. The Enterprise Control add-on costs $24 per year per computer and adds advanced management.
Management upsides: a central web console for all machines, backup status of each device at a glance, alerts on failures, adding and removing users from one page. Automatic rollout via MSI installer for Windows, JAMF and Munki for Mac. The admin can run restores straight from the console without access to the employee's machine.
Enterprise Control adds OIDC authentication including Okta and Azure AD, advanced backup lockdown, and restriction of restores to specific employees. Relevant for organizations with compliance requirements.
The edge over competitors: price. Business backup services like Carbonite or Crashplan cost $50 to $100 per month per computer. Backblaze runs $8.25 per month per computer, 5 to 10 times cheaper.
The limit: does not back up servers. Only work computers. For servers you need Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage, which runs on a different model. No built-in DR (Disaster Recovery) tools either, you have to build the solution.
Fits small and mid-sized businesses with 5 to 200 employees that want reliable backup at low cost without straining the IT department.
